General Summary

The Education Program Manager will oversee the development of courses, and other continuing education programming, primarily for an external audience, using engaging materials and applying proven adult learning methodologies. The Manager will identify new trends and programs that we should offer through the Academy and assist in the creation of these programs through curriculum design and planning. This person will work with senior educational leadership and across the continuum to identify 'best practices' related to existing and new roles in their profession. They will also mentor faculty who teach in our continuing education programs on an ad hoc basis and promotes professional growth and development through mentoring/training.

Principal Responsibilities

The Education Program Manager will:

  1. Identify courses, webinars, conference themes and other continuing education programs that we should develop in the Academy based on market needs, trends, or for strategic reasons.
  2. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in training and development in order to enhance professional expertise
  3. Manage delivery process for continuing education programs
  4. Collaborate with SMEs, Instructional Designer, and work with existing materials to develop these programs.
  5. Ensure overall program quality, including robust feedback process, back-up plans and continuing improvement based on feedback.
  6. Identify needs for educational materials, develop and prepare content with the assistance of graphics support and interdisciplinary projects.
  7. Meet or exceeds all program deliverable deadlines and financial goals.
  8. Assist with the marketing of programming to an external audience.
  9. Maintain providerships for continuing education credits appropriate to professional practice organizations. Completes applications for continuing education credit as appropriate.
  10. Facilitates professional growth and development by mentoring staff in the development of presentations, publications, educational courses, and fellowships.
  11. Utilize best practice in teaching in both Institute and outside organizations' CE programs.
  12. Facilitates Development of 'Best Practices'. Develops procedures, protocols, and guidelines to promote throughout the continuum 'Best Practices' that lead to optimal educational outcomes utilizing available resources.
  13. Record Keeping. Collects, analyzes, and/or presents data regarding continuing education activities, research projects, and other activities and functions related to the Academy. Maintains records of activities as required by various accrediting bodies.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Senior Education Program Manager of the Academy, Global Learning Group

Job Requirements

  1. Master’s degree from an accredited university in education, communication, organizational development or relevant clinical field.
  2. Current State license for professional practice. A minimum of 5 years relevant clinical experience.
  3. Exposure to and interest in adult education; experience teaching, or via curriculum development of various programs.
  4. Organized and interested in the development and implementation of education programs for rehabilitation clinicians.
  5. Absolute attention to detail and high quality standards.
  6. Interpersonal skills needed to effectively communicate with all levels of health care professionals.
  7. Analytical skills needed to assess existing programs, to research and develop new educational materials and programs
  8. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under short lead times.
  9. Understanding of budgetary principles and processes.
