General Summary

Digital Content Specialist

Pathways.org is seeking an experienced, innovative, and motivated digital content specialist to join our organization to help develop and share parent-friendly information on child development. We need your help to reach our target audience, parents all over the world. If you are passionate about using digital channels to help parents - Come join our team!

Using creativity, writing skills, and understanding of social media you will help support and further a comprehensive content strategy plan; analyzing, improving, and creating engaging content.

We are looking for an experienced individual who can:

  • Create web content, social media posts, and other digital content to drive page views and clicks
  • Take complex medical information and turn it into parent-friendly, easy-to-understand wording
  • Think outside of the box to find creative solutions to reaching audiences and enhancing impact

Join our skilled team of writers, marketers, and healthcare providers and make a difference in the lives of children all over the world.

Job responsibilities:

  • Identify content needs, analyze existing content for improvements.
  • Create user-centered content with multimedia elements – written text, pictures, videos, and graphics that are consistent with Pathways.org brand
  • Think creatively about which formats or channels are best for content delivery
  • Support the regular measuring and reporting of digital campaign performance and work closely with team for deeper analysis, testing and page optimization.
  • Collaborate with team to plan and coordinate content strategies.
  • Ensure information is current and regularly updated to keep the site fresh and interesting.
  • Proactively identify and recommend desktop and mobile website improvements
  • Able to take technical and medical information and rewrite in a fun and engaging way
  • Other duties may be required and assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years experience in content strategy and social media marketing
  • Deep understanding of digital marketing channels, metrics and best practices
  • A natural people connector, who can build relationships with key stake holders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience developing website concepts that are graphically interesting and meet online usability, performance and accessibility needs
  • Willingness to test, fail quickly and re-design as needed
  • Basic understanding of web analytics (i.e. Google Analytics, Omniture, WebTrends), pay-per-click advertising , and SEO best practices
  • Knowledge of desktop and mobile web content management, usability, photo/image editing, measurement tools and technology associated with digital media required
  • Able to present concepts clearly and accurately and to keep others informed
  • Self-starting, capable of working independently while also functioning and contributing as part of a fast-paced team
  • Organized and able to prioritize projects and meet multiple deadlines
  • Experience with graphic design and video creation a plus

Rate: 

This is a full-time position. Salary based on experience.

Location:

This position is located in downtown Chicago. Must be local.
