General Summary

The Senior Revenue Integrity Analyst oversees the management and implementation of Shirley Ryan Ability Lab (SRAlab) revenue cycle initiatives associated with Chargemaster Maintenance, Charge Capture, and Charge Reconciliation. Directs all aspects of Charge Description Master (CDM) maintenance including but not limited to: development of new charge codes, compliance with third party coding regulations, revision of existing codes, CPT/HCPCS updates, revenue code changes, implementation of pricing updates.

Principal Responsibilities



The Senior Revenue Integrity Analyst will:

  1. Leads the operation of the Cerner Charge Description Master services and related Charge Services functions and processes.
  2. Works with SRAlab department managers to ensure clinical charges and billing codes are established in Cerner's patient care applications and are captured by Cerner's patient billing applications.
  3. Ensures that SRAlab patient billing practices are in compliance with federal, state and other third-party payer requirements
  4. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of all coding systems with the CDM, which may include CPT's HCPCS, ICD-10 codes, etc.
  5. Participates in the establishment and implementation of SRAlab pricing methods and structures.
  6. Oversees the provision of price estimates for procedures or services to clients and insurance companies.
  7. Conducts internal reviews to determine charge capture accuracy and comprehensiveness, as directed by Compliance and/or Revenue Cycle stakeholders.
  8. Leads efforts of multidisciplinary groups where necessary to monitor the completeness and accuracy of revenue and billing information
  9. Promotes and participates in initiatives to improve organization effectiveness and efficiency.
  10. Ensures that accurate and timely reports are prepared on a regular and as needed basis
  11. Assists with training and development of staff.
  12. Provides education as needed to departments related to their charges and charging practices
  13. Maintains all documentation related to the CDM
  14. Perform all other duties that may be assigned in the best interest of the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Reporting Relationships

  1. Reports directly to the Revenue Integrity Manager

Job Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, Healthcare Finance or a combination of related education and equivalent work experience.
  2. Minimum five years of experience in a hospital health care setting. (Rehabilitation Hospital experience strongly preferred)
  3. Demonstrated knowledge of rehabilitation hospital patient billing systems, health procedures and classification systems,
  4. Demonstrated knowledge of Cerner hospital accounting systems and practices as related to patient billing, chargemaster management and charge services
  5. Minimum five years’ experience with Cerner Health Information Systems preferred. Craneware CDM experience preferred.
  6. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional in of revenue cycle processes, medical terminology and CDM related coding and billing procedures.
  7. Hospital medical auditing/review experience preferred.
  8. Has a full understanding of industry practices, policies, and procedures.
  9. Knowledge, understanding and proper application of Medicare, Medicaid and third-party payer billing and reporting requirements.
  10. Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations requires evaluation of identifiable factors
  11. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult assignments and of diverse scope.
  12. Strong interpersonal, communication, process improvement and CDM management experience.
  13. Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  14. Word/Excel proficient.
  15. Ability to produce accurate, assigned work product within specified time frames.

Working Conditions

  1. Normal office environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature.
